I am licensed in Indiana with 18 years of professional work experience. I went into the field of Social Work due to a calling on my life to help others. I have loved being able to see lives transformed and am hopeful you will have a positive experience at Grow Therapy. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflict and trauma/abuse. I also have experience working with parenting issues. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
During the initial session, I will gather background information from you to get an idea of where you have come from as well as goals you would like to reach. During subsequent sessions, we will focus on ways to meet your goals and address anything in your life you may be struggling with. Once your goals have been met, we will then discuss any other issues you may be facing or look towards any possible next steps once therapy is complete.
I defiantly focus on being strengths based. I believe everyone has people and resources in their life to help them be successful in life; it is just a matter of utilizing the resources you have as well as finding new ones. I am also solutions focused. I like being able to define the issue and implement strategies to resolve the issue. I like using educational worksheets for you to read through and complete on your own, then discussing the new learning in the next session.
Throughout the majority of my career as a Social Worker, I have worked in area of trauma and family issues. Due to this, I feel as though these have become my specialties. I like being able to help define coping skills to deal with life’s issues and see how these work successfully in the lives of my clients.
