LMFT, 11 years of experience
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. For almost a decade, I have worked to help many diverse clients, including adults, teens, children, and seniors. Treatment areas have included depression, anxiety, mood disorders, crisis intervention, self-esteem, marital counseling, pre-marital counseling, grief, and more. I am a client-centered therapist who works collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals. The most common theoretical approaches I use in my practice include CBT, DBT, Trauma-focused therapy, and the Gottman Method. My sessions can be described as warm, inviting, supportive, collaborative, and educational. When working with me, I will not only listen to your concerns but also help you identify ways to address and overcome them.
During our first session, we will discuss current challenges, the history of these issues, and get a general understanding of your family history. From there, I will provide you with feedback regarding my suggestions for treatment (i.e., individual therapy, couples therapy, group, medication management, community support, etc). However, all suggestions made by me are purely suggestions; we will start with whatever services you feel comfortable with.

My ideal client is one who is open to frowning and learning. Therapy is a place to explore and better understand yourself. A willingness to utilize the skills taught can lead to a life where one is not just living but thriving.
I have been trained and certified in CBT. During my sessions I often refer to CBT theory and provide clients with an understanding of CBT skills to create more balanced thoughts and feelings.
I have taught DBT skills individually and on a group basis. Many of the skills taught include mindfulness and distress tolerance skills.
I have been trained in the Gottman Method. When providing couples therapy, this is the primary treatment method I use.
