New to Grow
Hi, I’m Dedra. I’m a mental health therapist who helps adults navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My style is compassionate, practical, and rooted in evidence-based approaches like ACT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and multicultural therapy. I believe in creating a safe, affirming space where you can explore your story, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and judgment-free space where we’ll get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. We’ll talk about what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past, and start setting goals that feel meaningful and achievable. My priority is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of the path forward.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that I combine evidence-based methods with a warm, collaborative style. I draw from ACT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and multicultural therapy to meet each client where they are, while also encouraging growth and resilience. Clients often share that they feel genuinely heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools they can use right away. My goal is not only symptom relief but also helping you build a more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling life.
I am best positioned to serve adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, or the stress of major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps, and are seeking a supportive space to process their experiences. I work well with people who value personal growth, want to build healthier coping strategies, and are open to exploring new ways of thinking and relating to themselves. My goal is to help clients move from surviving to thriving, with therapy tailored to their unique strengths and values.
I have experience using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) with adults who have experienced a wide range of traumatic events. My approach integrates education about trauma, strategies for managing distress, and structured techniques to process and reframe difficult memories. Through this evidence-based model, I help clients reduce trauma symptoms, build healthier coping skills, and regain a sense of safety and empowerment in their daily lives. I tailor each step to the client’s pace, ensuring the work feels supportive, respectful, and focused on long-term healing.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support adults who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, depression, or self-criticism. ACT focuses on learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions while committing to actions that align with your personal values. Together, we work on building mindfulness skills, increasing psychological flexibility, and moving toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
I provide gender affirming therapy for adults exploring or living their authentic gender identity. My approach is grounded in respect, validation, and creating a safe space where clients can process their experiences without judgment. Together, we can explore identity, navigate transitions, build resilience against societal pressures, and strengthen self-acceptance. My goal is to support you in living authentically and confidently, with a therapy process tailored to your unique needs.
I approach therapy from a multicultural perspective, honoring the unique identities, values, and lived experiences of every client. I recognize that culture, race, ethnicity, spirituality, and systemic factors shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. In our work together, I create a space where your story is heard and respected, while integrating culturally responsive practices to support healing, resilience, and personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges in ways that feel authentic and empowering.
