Hello, my name is Dr. Regina Wilson. I received my doctorate from the University of Connecticut in Clinical Psychology. I have been in private practice since 2000. I am a highly skilled clinical psychologist with over 25 + years of experience working with a wide variety of clients. As a trained clinical psychologist, I take an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from various evidence-based modalities to meet each client where they are. I believe that therapy is most effective when it honors your unique story, pace, and needs. My approach is guided by a personal motto I’ve coined: Uncover, Discover, and Discard. In our work together, we will uncover the patterns, experiences, and underlying factors that may be preventing you from living as your most authentic and empowered self. From there, we will discover how unhelpful thoughts, toxic behaviors, or limiting beliefs have been manifesting in your life. Together, we’ll identify healthier ways of thinking and develop strategies that promote healing, resilience, and growth. Finally, we will discard what no longer serves you—whether it’s outdated beliefs, behaviors, or emotional burdens—creating space for transformation and well-being.
The initial part of the first session will consist of introductions, reviewing confidentiality and HIPPA protocols, and explaining my role as a mandated reporter. Once we have covered those details, we will shift into discussing the reasons that he/she has sought out professional therapeutic services. Within this discussion, I will conduct an informal clinical interview to obtain background information relevant to the issue and to learn for about family dynamics and personal patterns. With this information, we can begin developing the treatment plans of what we will be addressing in therapy. Last, the client will be offered the opportunity to ask any additional questions regarding therapy or direct questions to me. In sum, the focus of this initial session is to establish the therapeutic relationships, identify treatment goals, and create a set appointment time.
As a trained clinical psychologist and realist, I approach therapy with honesty, clarity, and grounded support. I help clients work with what is—while still holding space for what can be. My style is compassionate but direct, empowering clients to build on their strengths, face life’s challenges with courage, and create meaningful, sustainable change. Further, my therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that healing is a transformational journey—one that involves uncovering root causes, discovering healthier patterns, and discarding what no longer serves. I draw from an eclectic mix of evidence-based modalities to meet each client exactly where they are, honoring their unique story, cultural identity, and lived experience. With a strong foundation in both cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented approaches, I support clients in building awareness, resilience, and empowerment. My work is deeply relational and client-centered, grounded in the values of authenticity, self-compassion, and meaningful change. I aim to create a safe and inclusive environment where healing is not only possible, but inevitable with the right support.
I work best with high-functioning adults who are ready to do the real work of healing. My clients often appear strong on the outside but carry deep emotional burdens, including trauma, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or generational pain. They’re seeking not just relief, but transformation. If you’re ready to move beyond surface-level fixes and face the deeper patterns keeping you stuck, I’m here to help. My approach is direct but compassionate, eclectic yet grounded. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, healing from trauma, or redefining your identity, we’ll do the work together—step by step. Through a culturally affirming, eclectic, and insight-driven approach, I help clients uncover root patterns, discover healthier ways of thinking and coping, and discard what no longer serves their growth. If you’re ready to move from survival to self-defined wholeness, I’m here to walk with you—compassionately, directly, and with intention.
I have extensive clinical experiences with an array of treatment modalities. However, I prefer to meet the client where they are at and then determine what modality would be the most effective treatment approach for the client
