If you are a young adult or adult woman that is tired of relying too much on others for your happiness, self-worth, or sense of identity, and you are ready to take the first step towards breaking this cycle, I can help. Throughout my work, I have successfully supported and joined women overcome codependency and find fulfillment from within to be able to enjoy balanced and healthy relationships. If you are grieving a relationship or a marriage and need support and guidance through your emotional healing process, I can also help. I have helped many women experience and process their grief, find closure, rediscover hope, and most importantly, move forward with a stronger sense of self. I'm a bilingual, licensed therapist in the State of Florida. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Miami, FL to pursue a career in mental health counseling. Throughout my career, I have found that I work and connect well with adult and young adult women that want to overcome codependency, heal the loss of a relationship or marriage, and improve their self-esteem. While those are my main specialties, I also support clients that are struggling with and need help managing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, what challenges you have been facing, and what goals you are hoping to accomplish. This will allow me to understand how I can best help you achieve those goals and create an individualized treatment plan. I will also take a few minutes during this session to address any questions or concerns you may have about the process or about my approach.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My main goal is to make you feel understood, safe, and empowered while we work together through your challenges. Some of the qualities that I bring into my work and that help me accomplish this goal are empathy, authenticity, patience, and compassion. Healing and growing can feel challenging but I am a firm believer in human resilience and I aim to help you realize your capabilities and your ability to overcome adversity.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal clients are young adults or adult women that have been exposed to traumatic experiences and/or that are currently struggling to manage life transitions, including, but not limited to relationship separations, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, and going to college.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This approach focuses on examining the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT involves working together to help you understand your thoughts, identifying your thought patterns, challenging and reframing certain thoughts, modifying behaviors, and utilizing techniques (i.e., thought records, setting behavioral goals, or relaxation exercises). The goal is to understand and modify thinking patterns and behaviors to improve your overall wellbeing.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This approach combines mindfulness and acceptance strategies with commitment and behavior change techniques. It focuses on building psychological flexibility, which is the ability to adapt and respond effectively to life's challenges while staying connected to what matters most to you.

Attachment-based

This approach can be used to explore experiences, particularly your early relationship with your primary caregivers, and understand how these might be impacting your life now. By addressing any unresolved feelings or attachment issues, you can work towards building healthier, more secure relationships. It’s especially useful for people who struggle with trust, intimacy, or who have a history of difficult relationships.
