I’m Ebony Woney, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate anxiety, burnout, life transitions, and relationship challenges with compassion and practical support. I bring a holistic, culturally responsive approach to therapy, drawing from CBT and other evidence-based methods to empower clients to understand their patterns, build resilience, and create meaningful change. My work is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and the belief that healing happens when people feel truly seen and supported.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we take time to explore what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask about your history, current concerns, and any goals you’re considering, all at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns that may be contributing to your stress or anxiety, and I’ll explain how I use approaches like CBT to support your healing. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of the direction we’re heading, feel heard and understood, and know that you have a partner in the process who is committed to your growth and well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, authentic, and culturally affirming space where clients feel safe to be fully themselves. I blend evidence-based approaches, with deep empathy, insight, and practical tools that help clients make meaningful progress both in and outside of sessions. I am skilled at helping clients untangle complex emotions, identify unhelpful thought patterns, and build resilience in the midst of stress, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. Clients often share that they appreciate my honesty, my ability to truly listen, and the way I balance compassion with accountability to support real, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, burnout, or the pressure of balancing multiple roles, whether as professionals, caregivers, parents, or partners. Many of my clients are high-achieving women, who carry a great deal of emotional responsibility and are seeking a safe, affirming space to unpack their experiences. I also work well with clients navigating life transitions, relationship stress, grief, and self-esteem concerns. My ideal clients are motivated for growth, open to self-reflection, and ready to build healthier patterns so they can experience more peace, clarity, and confidence in their daily lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I regularly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I guide clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging them with evidence-based techniques, and developing healthier coping strategies. My approach is collaborative and culturally responsive, especially when working with women and Black women who often navigate unique stressors. I integrate tools like thought records, journaling, and structured skills practice so clients can apply what they learn outside of sessions. Overall, CBT allows me to provide practical, effective support that empowers clients to create meaningful, lasting change.
