(she/her)
Hi, I'm Amanda, I'm a Hispanic Mexican American, culturally sensitive psychotherapist. I am known for my warm, caring, family-oriented personality. With more than 25 years of experience working with children, pre-teens, teens, adults and seniors. I've worked in children community mental health, crisis intervention and substance abuse treatment. I'm experienced with anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, behavioral issues, relationship issues, adoption, womens issues and life transitions. For clients who wish to incorporate their faith into our sessions, I offer a therapy approach that integrates Christian Catholic principles for those who find their faith central to their healing. I provide a compassionate faith-informed environment.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I feel that my biggest strengths are the ability to be nonjudgmental and help others gain insight into their worries and struggles in order for them to reach attainable goals and experience self-growth.
My areas of expertise include: Anger Management, Stress Management, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Substance Abuse, Addiction, Grief and Loss, Relationship Issues, Adoptions, Womens Issues and Life Transitions. I enjoy working with teens, adults and seniors who are struggling with feeling overwhelmed and anxious about life situations.

CBT is research based and leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life.
Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. This focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience, and change your worldview to one that is more positive.
Christian Counseling
This approach blends evidence-based principles with a biblical worldview by focusing on identifying thoughts that are misaligned with scripture and replacing them with biblical truth.
