About me

Welcome. Do you feel life is not going as planned and fear, sadness or self-doubt feel overwhelming? You may be facing challenges in your career, home life or interpersonally and I am here to help. Depression, grief and frustration touch all of us from time to time and we may feel we aren't able to cope. I believe there are answers to your questions and you can overcome adversity. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and Oregon and believe that a strong, therapeutic relationship is key in effecting change. Together we can untangle the challenges you are facing as you aim to live a mindful and affirming life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will make brief introductions then dive into particular struggles you may be facing and what led you to seek counseling in the first place. We will discuss how you will best relate your experiences in a safe place and I am here to support you. We will then create a plan on how to proceed in follow up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with people of all ages and stages, I've developed an ability to connect with others where they are so we can work out a plan to identify root causes of challenges and come up with a plan to improve your life. It is my privilege to provide a safe and supportive place to accompany you as you heal.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals who are going through life transitions that may include questions about personal growth, sexuality, spirituality, life transitions and relationships. I like to be an ally for others and help them reach their full potential. I am passionate about providing a sense of safety and security and to help clients feel their own worth, not just to resolve symptoms.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

Compassion focused therapy (CFT) focuses on mood disorders and feelings of shame, self-criticism often from early traumatic experiences. Using visualization, meditation and gratitude, CFT helps clients make the mind-body connection, awareness of thoughts and body sensations helping to cultivate compassion for self and others to help regulate emotions for safety, self-acceptance and comfort.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment (ACT) is a form of mindfulness based therapy with the goal for greater well-being which can be attained by overcoming negative thoughts and feelings.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered therapy uses a non-authoritative approach allowing clients to lead discussions which will lead to discovery of one's own solutions. A therapist will act as a compassionate facilitator without judgment and helping the client acknowledge their experience without moving the conversation in a different direction. The therapist is with the client to guide the process of therapy without interrupting or interfering with the client's self-discovery.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. I use this method to assist clients with identifying and correcting dysfunctional beliefs in thinking then helping a client modify those thoughts and behaviors. CBT is structured and collaborative between the client and therapist and often will assign homework assignments.
