(she/her)
I received my master’s degree in social work from University of South Carolina. My post-graduate work focuses predominately on child welfare, specifically working with young children, young adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma within their home. I also have considerable experience working with numerous populations such as victims of domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and those who are developmentally disabled. I use a number of different therapeutic approaches when working with clients, focusing mainly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
As a therapist, I understand the importance of feeling safe and having space to let your guard down. Sometimes we rarely get the chance to experiment that. In my session the main thing I focus on first is building rapport and creating a safe space for you. The environment is key. I want to help create that atmosphere for you and allow you to eventually trust me to be your partner on this life journey, where we can tackle your problems and concerns together.
I feel the greatest strength that I provide is empathy. I come from a place of great understanding in order to help assist clients with needs. We all have a different and unique understanding of ourselves and the world. My job is not to change your view but to help challenge you on what your willing to change about yourself so you can flourish.
I know its a struggle when trying to find someone to confide in and focusing on stressors and how to cope with traumatic experiences. It’s important to know that I’m passionate about helping people overcome barriers and recognizing their strengths, while assisting them with life crises. I believe every day is an opportunity to create positive change; I can help you change your mindset and focus your energy on the outcome you want to achieve.

Each time I meet with Nicole, I learn something new and take away something I can work on. She is by far, one of the best therapists I have works with!

I read her profile and she specializes in what I'm in need of. I'm really looking forward to embarking on my journey with her guidance. I've needed to tackle so many issues for years and she has the knowledge and experience to get me through it.
