Certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), I work with individuals processing and reframing negative thoughts and beliefs by reducing the impact of trauma and emotional distress. I offer an evidence-based approach that fosters healing, clarity, and empowerment in a supportive environment through telehealth after normal business hours and on weekends. Opening up to a stranger can be frightening for anyone. My goal is to make you feel completely comfortable while assisting you in expressing your feelings, discovering your inner strengths, validating your feelings, and challenging your negative thoughts. Let's get moving closer to living the life you dream of living!

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I approach each session with openness, authenticity, and respect. Using evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Processing Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, emotional regulation strategies, communication skills, and trauma-informed exploration of past experiences, you can expect a supportive, goal-oriented process that leads to reduced emotional distress, stronger relationships, greater self-understanding, and a renewed sense of control and hope.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Specializing in trauma and PTSD, my goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel fully comfortable to be yourself. I view our work together through a human lens- we're all just humans trying to navigate life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adult individuals, couples, and Veterans/first responders impacted by trauma, depression, or anxiety and feel stuck in painful patterns and long for relief, clarity, and connection. They seek a safe, supportive space to understand their experiences, improve communication, and build healthier relationships. Their goals often include healing past wounds, reducing emotional distress, and creating more fulfilling lives with greater self-awareness and resilience.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, tailoring aspects to fit your needs. During your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and your overall goals. We will look at how prior events have negatively affected your thoughts and emotions. I'll help you learn how to challenge those negative thoughts and emotions, ultimately evoking much more positive ones.

Rachel helped me work through some difficult problems to come to a reasonable resolution with a struggling/failing 16 year marriage. She didn't push one way or the other. She just highlighted the important details along the way to guide the necessary decision to prioritize what's best for me and the kids on a long term basis. She is very kind and understanding, but also holds you accountable for thoughts and emotions that may be based in hope, not in reality.
