Sometimes life is hard. Do you find yourself struggling to find your way? Maybe trauma, depression, anxiety, a major mental illness or a substance use disorder is standing in your way to a comfortable, successful life. As Rumi reminds us "When you start to walk on the way, the way appears". I am here to empower you to do just that; discover your strengths and your way to creating or recapturing the healthy life you deserve. In my practice I offer 3 services including psychotherapy for your healing needs, life coaching for meeting your goals and a Trauma Informed Martial Arts (TIMA) class to help you regain your personal power.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our initial session I will work with you to assess what issues need to be addressed and to develop the best plan to help you achieve a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have extensive experience working in inpatient, outpatient, residential, emergency psychiatry, community mental health and forensic settings. I am a trained mental health trauma responder and have even developed a Trauma Informed Martial Arts program. My patients describe me as "real and down to earth". I truly believe that we are all just people; each trying to navigate this sometimes challenging thing called life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with trauma survivors, people who have BiPolar Disorder, Dual Diagnosis (mental health and addiction issues) or a major mental illness and also people going through life transitions- be it divorce, post partum issues, retirement or other major life changes. I offer telehealth and in person sessions for people ages 18-99 yrs old

I love Ms LeeAnn I’ve been with her for almost a year and we’ve gotten through some tough times, she always comes up with a good plan and solutions for me, I wouldn’t be the person I am now without her, I look forward to getting through these obstacles with her by my side, she’s a smart, funny, and genuine person. I know she cares and I love that she listens to me. Big thanks!!

She is very knowledgeable and kind. She gives me different ways to handle things that I’d never even considered before. She is understanding and our sessions are catered to the best way that’s right for me to be better able to understand my own behaviors and that of others. She listens without judgment and offers insights into my behaviors and coping skills to better handle situations in my life. She is a great therapist 100% recommend!!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find that most people can benefit from some CBT methods no matter what the issue so it is almost always sprinkled into the mix to work on changing distorted thought patterns or negative self narratives into something that is more realistic and works for you.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

CAMS is used so that the client and therapist can work collaboratively on assessing risk and developing a treatment plan, which may or may not include hospitalization. I've found this strategy is a necessary one so that it helps develop a trusting relationship and ensures the client that they can feel free to discuss such matters without being fearful it will result in automatic hospitalization. I do my very best to help you stay out of the hospital, but rest assured if that is what is needed I will surely recommend it and work with you to develop a plan to suit your needs .

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing, while originally developed to use with persons addicted to substances, has proven to work well for any behavioral change. While Motivational Interviewing does not demand change, it does encourage it at your pace which greatly improves your chances of success.

Eclectic

I use an eclectic approach to therapy where I draw from many different treatment models depending on which will best suit your needs. This includes but not limited to, CBT, ACT, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mind-Body Therapy, Trauma Based Treatment, Somatic Therapy, Grief Work, Psychoeducation, Polyvagal Therapy, and more... all while taking an Integrative and Person-Centered Approach.

Somatic

Somatic Therapy is one of my favorite treatment options. The main goal is the reconnection of the mind and body. I find it so important that I have developed a Trauma Informed Martial Arts program based on mind-body reconnection.
