New to Grow
My name is Sandra, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies. My background includes extensive experience working in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, where I’ve had the privilege of serving individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. I am deeply passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, build emotional resilience, and rediscover their inner strength. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. In addition, I provide a range of eclectic proven approaches that best fits a client’s needs. Together, we’ll work to identify unhelpful patterns, process life experiences, and develop practical tools that foster healing and personal growth.
Our first session will serve as an introduction—a chance for us to get to know each other and begin laying the foundation for your therapy journey. I’ll ask questions to understand your background, goals, and what brought you here, while creating a warm, nonjudgmental space for you to share at your own pace. We’ll work together to establish goals that feel meaningful and achievable as we begin mapping out your personalized treatment plan.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to listen deeply, provide empathy without judgment, and meet clients where they are. I create an environment where you can feel safe to share your story openly and honestly. Through talk therapy, guided reflection, and practical strategies, we’ll work to rewrite your narrative—turning challenges into opportunities for insight, empowerment, and transformation.
I work with adults and couples navigating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, ADHD, and relationship difficulties. Whether you feel stuck in a difficult chapter or ready to begin a new one, I’m here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. My goal is for every client to leave therapy feeling heard, valued, and equipped with the tools to continue their growth and healing beyond our sessions.
As a clinician, I utilize eclectic treatment methods, such as: CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Grief Therapy, Couples Counseling, DBT, Gestalt, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as Psychoeducation. My experience with these treatment methods has been gratifying, witnessing my clients progress in their acclaimed directions and growth. Applying these treatment methods, as needed based on problem areas, have allowed clients to navigate through their will and motivation to heal sometimes due to trauma, personal relationships, or grief and loss. Regardless of what brings clients seeking therapy, they have been able to excel beyond their expectations by first meeting them where they are in the midst of challenges, unwanted change, tragedies and bereavement, psychological pain influencing self-harm, low self-esteem, self-blame and shame, undesirable body image, lack of social skills/improve interpersonal relationships, challenges in academics, and even being in an unforgiving space daunted by anger. Last but not least, personal growth, self-wareness, and clear insights are like diamonds polished from the rough.
