LCSW, 21 years of experience
Welcome! I’m Nara Pezolano, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with over 20 years of experience in mental health. My practice is rooted in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals navigating a wide range of challenges. I specialize in supporting clients through the complexities of trauma and abuse, creating a safe and nurturing space for healing and growth. Many of my clients come to me struggling with low self-esteem, lack of motivation, or a sense of purposelessness, and I work alongside them to rebuild confidence and rediscover meaning in their lives. Relationship challenges—whether with family, friends, or romantic partners—are another area of focus in my practice. I help clients develop healthier communication skills, resolve conflicts, and foster deeper connections. Additionally, I address mood and personality disorders, anxiety, and depression, using evidence-based approaches to help clients manage symptoms and regain a sense of control. Grief and end-of-life issues are deeply personal and sensitive topics, and I provide a supportive environment for clients to process their emotions and find meaning during life’s most difficult transitions. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and person-centered, meaning I adapt my methods to meet your unique needs and goals. I believe in empowering you to take the lead in your healing journey, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and respected every step of the way. I am proud to offer an inclusive and affirming space for the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, and I am committed to fostering a practice that is welcoming and safe for all. If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. Together, we can work toward a brighter, more fulfilling future.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and collaboration. I’ll ask about your background, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We’ll explore both your current challenges and the strengths you already possess. This conversation helps me understand your story and allows us to determine if we're a good therapeutic fit. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to begin your healing journey.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to deeply empathize and create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely accepted. I approach each session with compassion, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental mindset, recognizing that we are all doing our best to navigate life’s complexities. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their pace and their process. I’m also deeply committed to practicing with cultural humility, holding space for each client’s unique racial, cultural, socioeconomic, gender, and sexual identities. I remain mindful of my own privileges and biases, ensuring that our work is rooted in respect, inclusion, and emotional safety. This foundation allows for authentic connection and supports deep, meaningful healing.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I specialize in working with adults who are navigating the emotional impacts of childhood trauma, Complex PTSD (CPTSD), and challenging relational dynamics, including narcissistic abuse and codependency. Many of my clients come to therapy experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm, often rooted in early attachment wounds or ongoing stress. I integrate approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, DBT, CBT, and Gestalt therapy to support healing on both a cognitive and emotional level. My style is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients reconnect with their authentic self, develop emotional regulation skills, and build meaningful relationships. I’m especially attuned to clients who are deep thinkers or highly self-aware but feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. If you’re seeking a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your story, process trauma, and move toward lasting change, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Nara is such a great therapist, fully authentic, and is very quick to respond to messages!
IFS allows clients to heal inner wounds by fostering compassion, curiosity, and connection within. I’m drawn to this approach because it supports lasting change by helping people unburden parts of themselves shaped by trauma, shame, or fear—leading to greater self-leadership and emotional freedom.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is one of my specialties because it offers powerful, skills-based tools for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and building a life worth living. I’m drawn to DBT’s balance of acceptance and change, and I use it to help clients develop greater emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. Whether someone is navigating mood instability, impulsivity, or interpersonal challenges, DBT provides a structured and compassionate path forward.
EMDR offers a powerful way to help clients process and heal from trauma without needing to relive every detail. I value how EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to resolve distress and reprocess painful memories in a safe, structured way. I've seen clients experience deep shifts in how they relate to their past, allowing for greater emotional freedom and resilience.
Gestalt therapy is one of my specialties because it creates space for clients to fully experience and integrate emotions rooted in early life experiences. I’m particularly drawn to its effectiveness in healing childhood trauma, as it helps individuals reconnect with parts of themselves that were silenced or fragmented. Through present-moment awareness and experiential techniques, I support clients in reclaiming their voice, fostering self-acceptance, and transforming old patterns into empowered choices.
Gender-affirming care is one of my specialties because I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported in their authentic identity. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and rooted in creating a safe space where clients can explore identity, heal past wounds, and build a life that aligns with who they truly are.
