I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in southern California. I work with individual adults only, utilizing Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) in treating those suffering from trauma/PTSD. I enjoy working with highly motivated individuals who are ready to address their trauma and work towards being free from the triggers, distress and patterns that are affecting their daily lives.
In the first session we would review information provided in your intake paperwork and discuss what challenges you're having and want to address with EMDR. We would discuss recurring themes in life as well as specific events/memories to address.
My focus is treating trauma/PTSD with EMDR, but I'm able to draw from other types of therapy and experiences to enrich discussion and processing.
I am well suited for motivated clients that are ready to do the work. I would also be a good fit for those who already have an established therapist and are only seeing me short-term for EMDR. PLEASE NOTE: For EMDR, you will need to be in your home or an office, on a computer or tablet. Sessions in a car and/or on your phone are not a good fit.
I am trained to use EMDR for trauma treatment and continue to pursue additional training in this technique. Most clients I've used it with experience reduced triggers and gain new understanding of past events, allowing them to move forward and not feel stuck anymore. I am solely focusing my practice on trauma/PTSD and EMDR. *PLEASE NOTE: I cannot provide a leave of absence from work, and I do not provide ESA letters.
