I have been working in the mental health field since 2018, in settings from inpatient psychiatric units, inpatient and outpatient settings for substance use, and holistic private practice. I hold additional certifications in trauma therapy modalities and am a Registered Yoga Teacher. I am passionate about working with individuals to heal and live a life that feels meaningful to them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect to be heard, seen, and supported in your work of healing. We will begin by identifying the goals you have for therapy, then work together each session to move you toward your goals in a way that works for you, adjusting as needed to meet your life on life's terms.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I specialize in trauma work, and believe in the healing power of both EMDR and talk therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are at, and work together to move you from surviving to thriving. We can combine traditional therapy with movement, art, and other mindfulness based tools as needed because healing is not a “one-size-fits-all” journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

It takes tremendous courage to be willing to engage in the work of healing. It is an honor and privilege to both bear witness to a client’s growth, and to support them in the process. I am best positioned to serve clients who are seeking to heal from trauma, past adversity, depression, anxiety, and/or substance misuse challenges based on my trainings and experience. “Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.” - Peter A. Levine Daily reminder you matter.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy is a great intervention for various presenting problems, empowering us to identify what matters to you most, then using these values as an anchor in the healing process, as well as a guide for future action toward goals. I have been using ACT as an intervention in groups and individual sessions since 2020, working with people who cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use.

Strength-Based

We will identify the strengths and resources within you and that you already have access to in order to set a foundation for growth and propel you forward, working on building upon these to help you get to where you would like to go. I find that approach is integral to all good treatment, and prefer to use this person focused method when working with all different people presenting with different challenges. I have been applying a strengths based perspective since my start in the mental health field in 2018.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBT) works to help you get back into your time zone of the here and now, rather than being ripped into the past and/or preoccupied with worries for the future. We will help you build skills that ground you in the present moment and serve to regulate your nervous system.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We will use DBT to help build skills and insight into behavior patterns that you are seeking to change, as well as provide practical skill building to facilitate these changes and create sustainability within them. DBT skills focus specifically on emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, and distress tolerance. I have advanced training in DBT and experience in using it in group and individual settings.

EMDR

EMDR is a great method for past experience of adversity that continues to influence the way in which you see and move through the world. It works to help you get unstuck from old beliefs and memories and create space for something new. I have been working with individuals doing EMDR for the past three years, primarily focusing in on addressing and treating PTSD.
