Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

"In this space to breathe in the good and exhale the bad." The first session is designed to build rapport and determine the best way I can assist you on your mental health journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Much of her style is influenced by her upbringing. Adrianne Paul Healing in Community is named after her late grandmother, Adrianne Paul, who was born in Ti Bouk Portmagot, Haiti, and worked on her land as a farmer to provide for her children. She would say things like “Si bef te konn fos yo, majoral pa ta lanse yo” meaning if you know your inner strength, there is a lot you can overcome. Dr. Mathieu’s work is a culmination of academic research, an Afrocentric perspective, and lived experience.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented talk therapy that helps people manage problems by changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors, focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions to develop practical coping skills for issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain, using structured sessions to challenge negative beliefs and build healthier responses in the present.
