I am a licensed clinical social worker with a master's degree from the University of Denver. She brings over 13 years of experience, including seven years of direct clinical experience. Her journey into the helping professions was profoundly influenced by lived experience, which instilled a deep belief in human growth, recovery, and resiliency. The greatest gift in my life is to journey with others as they develop a deepened understanding of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where we work collaboratively to address your unique challenges. I believe in the power of evidence-based treatments and have dedicated many years to studying the most effective methods for treating addiction and trauma. My approach is tailored to each individual, ensuring that you receive the support and strategies that best suit your needs. I am drawn to working with individuals with complex trauma; however, I sincerely enjoy working within any capacity for human growth. I am open to working with teenagers, young adults, and beyond. I can provide individual, couples, and family sessions as needed for treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are my lived experience in so many facets of mental health and recovery. I have a base of compassion and understanding that cannot be attained from intellectual growth alone, but coupled with the education and work in the field of social work has provided me with a unique capacity to meet individuals where they are at, even when hope feels unattainable.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have dedicated my life to assist others in understanding the complexities of life through a psychoanalytic lens. Traumatic experiences are not foreign to me; I was exposed to trauma at an early age, which ultimately led to repeated incidents that directly affected my capacity to live successfully as an adult. I engaged in trauma work in my twenties, which completely changed my capacity and vantage point in a fantastical way. This opportunity was so incredible to me that I found myself determined to help others find this peace and ability within themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The first step in understanding how we are experiencing anxiety and depressive symptoms, is to understand how we are thinking and acting. Through critical analysis, one can master their thought and behaviors- which increases stability and internal grounding.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

When individuals can access both logical thought with emotional understanding, a more balanced and well rounded way of interpretation and decision making can occur. Through specific intervention that is individually developed, one can increase emotional intelligence and find coping strategies when overwhelmed.

EMDR

EMDR is a trauma reprocessing therapy that assists the brain in rewiring after single event or complex trauma has been identified.

Couples Counseling

I enjoy working with couples to improve communication, understand maladaptive patterns, and work toward greater cohesiveness with each other.
