LMSW-C, 9 years of experience

About me

My name is Brienne Hackett, LMSW. I am a Michigan based Masters Level Social Worker. I graduated from Wayne State University in 2015 with my MSW. I have worked in many fields within human services but my main focus is client empowerment. I enjoy working with people to help them become better versions of themselves. We are all works in progress and everyone can use support when things in life get tough.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can expect "get to know you" interactive questions. I will gather information about what brings you to therapy, current coping tools, what your expectations are and what you hope to gain from your work with me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I like to meet clients where they are and do my best working with them to establish common ground. Many clients have complimented my authenticity. I'm serious when needed, humorous when needed and bring what my clients need at the time that we meet.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with young adults through life transitions. My clients may feel overwhelmed by life and want someone to help them figure out how they fit. My clients may struggle with establishing healthy boundaries with people in their lives or may feel like they can't get things right. Life transitions can include: Graduating from college into career, providing care for aging parents/family members, millennial parents, etc.

My treatment methods

Interpersonal

I use interpersonal therapy to get to know the client as a whole person. I want to know about your values, stressors and how we can work together to make you feel more balanced.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to find out your goals and ways to encourage you to achieve the goals that are important to you.

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation to help you gain skills to manage difficulties you bring to session. Guided practice is used to ensure you progressively gain confidence in using the learned skills. Homework may be given to practice skills in between sessions in order to apply them in your daily life.

It was a pleasure meeting with Bri. And I look forward to the journey of getting back into regular therapy with her.
