LPCC, 11 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a dual Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Minnesota with 11 years of counseling experience and 41 years of working with those experiencing a co-occurring mental health and chemical health disorder simultaneously. I have worked with groups and individuals experiencing a vast range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, impulsivity, substance use and trauma. My clinical and volunteer work has been in residential, home-based and intensive outpatient settings. My counseling style is compassionate, sensitive and positive, incorporating humor and joyfulness when appropriate. My approach combines a person-centered, trauma-informed framework, embracing one size does not fit all. I incorporate the modalities of mindfulness based stress reduction, meditation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. I look forward to supporting and empowering you in your journey of discovery! As my famous namesake said, “The best way out is always through ” —Robert Frost I am a 3rd generation Minnesotan (Ya you bet). Both my Grandfather's worked for Hormel in Austin and my father with General Mills. I also have the misfortune of being an avid Vikings and Twins fan. I enjoy fishing, biking & hiking/mindful walks in my spare time. I also have always had a passion for classic & muscle cars, attending shows around the metro area.

We can also process a couple goals you would like to work on going forward, creating a treatment plan to help us get started.
Even with my year's of experience and education, I believe you are the expert on yourself. I view my role as helping empower you to process the past and thrive in spite of it in a safe, non-judgmental space. I've been told and feel I have a genuine passion for helping and witnessing people heal and grow, meeting them where they are, and going as far as they're capable of at the time.
