Welcome! My name is Bridget Lyons and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions, virtually, or in person at my office located in Cape Coral. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 10 years, and I am happy to listen, validate, and help you process your concerns. I am a mother of an energetic 4-year-old girl, and I value and understand the beauty as well as the challenges that motherhood can bring. My goal is to take the time and attention to help you become your best self and achieve your fullest potential! I offer a warm, empathetic safe space for you to share your feelings, thoughts and experiences. I provide positive and constructive feedback and suggestions to help you cope with problems, and find solutions. I have immediate openings and I am looking forward to hearing from you! In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session I will actively listen to you and may ask questions to help me understand your concerns better. We will also build a treatment plan together that focuses on you reaching your goals and things you wish to change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Some of my favorite modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) as well as somatic and mindfulness meditation and coping skills. I am also Jungian informed and use past experiences as learning moments and focus on the impact past experience has had on the subconscious mind. I also use imagery in my sessions to help with insight.

Clients working with me can expect to develop coping strategies for managing anxiety and mood fluctuations, gain a deeper understanding of their emotional patterns, and build resilience to navigate life's challenges. For mothers, I provide specialized support to navigate the unique emotional landscape of the perinatal period, promoting maternal well-being and strengthening the parental bond.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a great way to challenge and reframe negative thoughts. Reframing these thoughts have a positive impact on our emotions and can change our life outlook!

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness allows you to focus your attention from the internal to the external. This can give us a break from troubling thought patters, while giving ourselves an opportunity to appreciate sensations from the world around us.

Somatic

Somatic therapy is focused on how feelings are felt in the body. Somatic exercises can help calm the body, thus regulating the troubling emotion.
