LMSW-C, 20 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently residing in Texas. I am Licensed as a Social Worker in the State of Michigan. I work with adults via Telehealth. I specialize in substance addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, career counseling and stress. My approach to treatment is Cognitive Behavioral Health, Solution-Focused Brief therapy, motivational interviewing and Person Centered Therapy.
During your first session with me we will talk about your reasons for coming to therapy. We will talk about things you want to change and any goals you have. Your goals are your goals and I am here to support there. Yes, you'll talk about what's going on, but therapy is not just venting. You and I will work on developing your coping skills for stress, set goals for improving your mood or relationships or find new ways to manage difficult emotions.
I use an integrative and client centered foundation. I prioritize the creation of safe, collaborative space where clients feel truly head and empowered to explore their challenges and strengths. A key component involves working with clients to not only address presenting problems but also to uncover and leverage your inherent strengths and resources. The result is enhanced self-efficacy, improved emotional regulation, and a deeper understanding of your inner landscape.
My approach to therapy is person-centered based on the needs of each client. I frequently use both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brief Solution Focused therapy as both modalities help me and the client build a strong understanding of their reality, and it allows us to work together in order to chart a positive path forward.
I use this as a short-term, goal oriented approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes the client's strengths and resources to construct solutions rather than focus on problems
I have been trained in CBT training in order to focus on thought, feelings and behaviors and how they are interconnected and can influence each other
I have been trained in CPT in order to assist with trauma. Its focus is on helping individuals identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thoughts and beliefs related to traumatic experiences.
I use motivational interviewing to help individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about change and to strengthen their motivation to make positive behavioral changes.
