LPC, 10 years of experience
Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia with over 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist and more than 15 years of supporting individuals in active addiction and recovery. I have had the privilege of working with adolescents, adults, and couples on a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, parenting, and career transitions. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered to move toward healing and growth.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your history, current concerns, and goals so I can better understand how to support you. This is also your opportunity to ask questions, share what you’re looking for in a therapist, and set expectations for our work together. My goal is to create a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe, heard, and supported as we begin this process.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it is eclectic, person-centered, and highly individualized. I believe in treating every client with respect, empathy, and unconditional positive regard—meeting you where you are without judgment or stigmatizing labels. My integrative approach allows me to draw from different methods and tailor sessions to your unique needs and goals. Together, we will create a treatment plan that reflects your specific challenges, strengths, and desired outcomes so that therapy feels both supportive and practical.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples who are ready to make positive changes but feel they don’t yet have the tools to get there. My clients are often feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or distressed by life’s challenges and are seeking guidance, support, and practical strategies to move forward. They may be struggling with relationships, anxiety, depression, or major life transitions—and are motivated to grow, heal, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I take an eclectic approach to counseling, meaning I integrate techniques from several evidence-based therapies to best meet each client’s unique needs. Over the years, I’ve seen that no single method works for everyone, so I tailor my approach depending on your goals, strengths, and challenges. This may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance, or solution-focused strategies to highlight and build on your strengths. I also draw on supportive counseling and trauma-informed practices to ensure a safe and compassionate space for healing. By combining different approaches, I can offer flexibility and personalization, ensuring your treatment plan feels both effective and aligned with who you are.
I have extensive experience providing couples counseling, supporting partners in strengthening their connection and working through challenges. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each couple’s unique needs, drawing on evidence-based methods such as Prepare/Enrich, the Gottman Method, communication skills training, and conflict resolution strategies. In our sessions, we’ll explore patterns that may be creating tension, practice healthier ways of communicating, and work toward rebuilding trust and intimacy. Using Gottman-informed tools, we will focus on fostering friendship, improving conflict management, and building a stronger foundation for long-term relationship success. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where both partners feel heard, valued, and empowered to create lasting change in their relationship.
I have experience providing Christian counseling to clients who desire to include their faith as part of their healing journey. My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic methods with biblical principles, offering a balanced space for both emotional growth and spiritual guidance. In sessions, we may incorporate prayer, scripture, and faith-based practices alongside proven counseling techniques to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationships, or life transitions. My goal is to help clients strengthen their relationship with God, find hope in difficult times, and build resilience through both clinical tools and spiritual support.
I have experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients work through the impact of trauma and post-traumatic stress. CPT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, or “stuck points,” that can keep clients feeling trapped in painful emotions such as guilt, shame, or fear. In our sessions, we’ll examine how your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are connected and practice new ways of thinking that allow you to process your experiences more effectively. My goal in using CPT is to help you reduce distress, gain perspective, and begin living with greater peace, clarity, and control.
