I have enjoyed practicing therapy to help individuals navigate challenging times and achieve meaningful life improvements since 2013. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in California, Texas, Colorado and Nebraska. I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and received a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my career, I’ve supported adults, from college-age through the span of professional working life, and across diverse environments, including universities, hospitals, the military community (active duty and dependents), and Veterans. My approach is compassionate and empathetic, and tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, with an emphasis on resilience, growth, and lasting change. **LGBTQ affirming.
In our first session together, we will start by building a strong foundation for our work together. This will include a brief introduction and getting to know each other better. I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy and any specific challenges you are facing right now. We will begin to identify goals and create a plan that you feel comfortable with and caters to your needs. My goal is to create a trusting space that feels supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping you move forward.
My clients often tell me that I’m easy to talk to you and if they feel heard and understood. I strive to be non-judgmental and approachable while creating a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves. I have the flexibility to work with a wide range of issues from life, transitions, relationship challenges to anxiety, depression, and trauma. My hope is that clients walk away from our session, feeling heard, supported, and empowered to move forward purposefully with their lives.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are facing challenging life transitions, managing college life, professional work life, navigating relationships, marriage and divorce, coping with anxiety and/or depression, and working through grief and loss. My ideal clients are those who feel ready and motivated to embrace change, actively engage in the therapeutic process, as we collaboratively explore strategies to foster emotion well-being, resilience and meaningful personal growth. **LGBTQ affirming.
CBT is an integral part of my work with others as I believe it is important to understand the relationship between our environment ourselves and our interactions with others. Creating awareness of the connection between our thinking, feelings and our behaviors allows us to become empowered individuals, and find our own self healing and contentment.
I believe that positive psychology philosophy allows me to help my clients develop a positive self image, and become reliant on their own strengths and skills. Being able to accept, the past will help transform the journey into the future, creating a road to wellness and optimism, and renewed hope for the future.
We come to therapy for support in a non-biased, comfortable and trusting environment. I believe it’s important to meet each person where they are at, and provide support through their journey in life to create a pleasant and meaningful existence and future.
