There's a reason they say "It takes a village to raise a child." Parenting has lots of ups & downs and moments of uncertainty. Needless to say, it can get overwhelming. But there's no need to navigate these challenging times alone. I proudly serve parents & children who are struggling with big emotions & behaviors, developmental transitions, and/or child/adult mental health issues. I strive to create a therapeutic atmosphere where individuals feel seen & heard. Through child-centered therapy, I can begin to communicate with your child and help guide them as s/he/they make sense of their feelings and behaviors. But parents & caregivers need support, too! Parent sessions are a time to focus on you & your experiences without judgment (and without kiddos). These sessions are flexible and can be a place for you to decompress, to ask Qs or explore parenting styles & strategies. I'm happy to meet in person or virtually.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is a time for you and I to meet individually to get to know each other further and discuss the challenges that you and/or your child are facing. I can then explain how I may be of help to you and/or your family, give you more details about what to expect from counseling, and schedule a follow up appointment with you and/or child.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my level of empathy; it gives me the ability to help individuals feel heard and understood no matter the presenting problem.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Children & adolescents ages 3-17; Adults ages 18+; Parents/Caregivers; Hispanic/Latinx families

My treatment methods

Play Therapy

It is a type of therapy that allows children to express themselves through play. Using games, toys, and art, I help a child process their experiences, understand their emotions, manage relationships, and build self-esteem.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and influence each other. CBT helps individuals become aware of these connections and how their thoughts and behaviors impact their overall well-being.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based Therapy helps by fostering a sense of security and stability, which, in turn, helps individuals to regulate their emotions. Attachment-based therapy also aims to repair or strengthen the parent-child relationship by addressing attachment ruptures and fostering a safe and secure relationship, ultimately helping children regulate emotions and develop healthy relationships.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy incorporates mindfulness practices to improve mental and emotional well-being for both children and adults. By cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance, individuals can gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) addresses the mental health needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families suffering from the destructive effects of negative life experiences and trauma.
