About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to creating a safe, affirming space where individuals and couples can explore their identities, experiences, and challenges without fear of judgment. My primary specialty is providing inclusive counseling for the LGBTQ+ community. I offer sexuality and gender-affirming care, sex therapy, and polyamory/kink-informed counseling. I also specialize in supporting clients of all ages who are navigating the impacts of complex trauma and PTSD, offering compassionate care tailored to each person’s unique healing process. In addition, I bring expertise in working with children, adolescents, and adults with brain-based differences such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), and other conditions of neurodiversity. My approach integrates education, skill-building, and empowerment—helping individuals, couples, and families thrive in daily life while supporting parents and caregivers in understanding and meeting the needs of their loved ones. Together, we can create a space for reflection, self-discovery, and change, with an emphasis on building resilience and restoring connection to self and others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

If you're new to therapy, it's completely normal not to know what to expect. Our first session is primarily about getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brings you to therapy, what's happening in your life right now, and what you'd like to be different. I'll ask questions about your history, current concerns, relationships, strengths, and goals, but you don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. We'll also talk about what you hope to get from therapy and begin creating a plan that feels useful, realistic, and specific to you. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and clearer about where we can begin.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I will work to meet you where you're at on your growth path. This means that we will examine what has happened in the past that led to current events, and use a solution focused, strengths-based approach to navigating a path forward that feels good to you. My approach is always trauma-informed and inclusive, and I consider myself as a guide on your journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients whose identities, relationships, families, or ways of experiencing the world don't always fit neatly into conventional boxes. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse individuals and couples, including transgender and non-binary clients, as well as those navigating polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, kink, swinging, lavender marriages, and other nontraditional relationship configurations. I also work with parents and caregivers raising children with FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, and other neurobehavioral disorders. I have experience working with postpartum mothers as well and postpartum mood disorders are a special interest. My approach is affirming, sex-positive, and neurodiversity-informed, with an emphasis on creating a space where you can focus on what brought you to therapy rather than having to explain or defend who you are.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an integral part of my practice. I use CBT to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By building awareness of these patterns, we can identify beliefs or habits that may be keeping you stuck and begin to challenge them in a supportive, structured way. In sessions, this might mean learning practical skills to reframe unhelpful thinking, practicing strategies for managing overwhelming emotions, or experimenting with new behaviors that align with your goals and values. I adapt CBT techniques to each person’s needs.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a cornerstone of my work with clients who have experienced adverse or traumatic events. TF-CBT is designed to address the lasting impact of early trauma in a developmentally appropriate and sensitive way. It is especially effective for those experiencing post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, or other mood challenges resulting from experiences such as sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic or community violence, or significant loss and grief. This evidence-based model integrates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy with trauma-sensitive interventions, helping children, adolescents, and—in some cases—adults to process traumatic memories, regulate overwhelming emotions, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust.

Gender-affirming therapy

Gender-affirming therapy is a central part of my practice and reflects a therapeutic stance of unconditional respect and validation. This approach does not attempt to question, challenge, or “repair” a person’s gender identity. Instead, it provides a safe and supportive space to explore and embrace identity, expression, and lived experience at your own pace. In gender-affirming work, I collaborate with clients to process and understand their experiences, connect them with affirming resources and support systems, and create a therapeutic environment where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is the process of providing education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services. I use this in my practice as a strong component of therapy. I believe that my clients will be more engaged and motivated if they better understand their experiences, allowing them to make clear connections between their own symptoms and the therapeutic approaches incorporated into the treatment.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured, skills-based approach that combines acceptance and change strategies to help clients build a life worth living. Originally developed to reduce self-destructive impulses in chronically suicidal patients, DBT has since become a leading treatment for borderline personality disorder, PTSD, emotion dysregulation, and a wide range of other challenges. DBT provides a strong educational framework, teaching practical skills in four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These tools help individuals manage overwhelming emotions, navigate relationships more effectively, and respond to stress in healthier ways. DBT empowers clients to move toward greater stability, self-understanding, and overall quality of life.
