New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced within outpatient and inpatient settings for over a decade. During my time in the field I have helped my patients deal with a broad range of challenges including depression, anxiety, substance use and trauma. I primarily work within the treatment framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, however each individual is different and I find fulfillment in tailoring treatment approaches based on individual strengths, experiences, and cultural identities.
In our first session I will work with you to get a comprehensive history for purposes of accurately assessing your challenges/needs that bring you to therapy. Afterwards we will work together to set attainable and measurable treatment goals, as well as discussing any other needs I can accommodate to set you up for success.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to help individuals through a broad range of high-stress situations. I am particularly adept at being a supportive and validating presence for my patients while also working with them to find viable, realistic ways to maintain a healthier and happier life.
I specialize in working with adults who struggle with depression and anxiety. My preferred approach is to help an individual identify areas in their life they struggle to manage effectively and help develop skills necessary to address this. I find this works best with individuals who are willing to have an open-minded approach to learning and practicing new things both in and out of sessions.
I typically use CBT to help my patients find thought patterns that are barriers towards reaching their goals and replace them with healthier and more in line with their vision of their best selves.
DBT is a particularly effective tool in developing coping strategies for negative and overwhelming emotions, as well as helping individuals who struggle with maintaining healthy relationships. I most often utilize DBT as a tool to self-empower my patients to develop and maintain healthy boundaries with others and to replace coping strategies that they have determined are incompatible with their goals.
