About me

Hello, there. My name is Sherri James and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker having earned my Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University in New York City. I have extensive clinical expertise working in a variety of behavioral health settings for over two decades. I am here to help you on your journey of self exploration. My goal with providing therapy is to help you to attain your personal best. I believe that everyone deserves this unselfish gift.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first therapy session, I’ll introduce myself and ask a series of questions to better understand what brings you to therapy. My goal is to create a sense of safety and help you feel oriented to the process. We won’t dive immediately into deep trauma work; instead, we’ll focus on building a solid therapeutic foundation.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my core strengths is creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to be themselves. I listen with genuine curiosity and compassion, helping clients feel understood and supported.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who may feel overwhelmed by life but still hold a quiet belief that things can get better. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, relationship stress, or major transitions and are tired of feeling stuck in old patterns. They usually come to me when they’re ready to understand themselves more deeply and want tools that actually help in day-to-day life. If you’re someone who values honesty, gentle encouragement, and a space where you don’t have to have it all together, you’ll likely feel at home with me.
