LCSW, 10 years of experience
I strive to empower individuals in cultivating lasting emotional well-being through compassionate, evidence-based care. I recognize that life’s challenges—whether rooted in anxiety, depression, trauma, or relational struggles—can be overwhelming. Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where healing and growth are not only possible but sustainable. I believe that everyone deserves access to nonjudgmental, supportive, and personalized mental health care. That’s why I specialize in trauma-informed, affirmative therapy that meets clients where they are—emotionally, relationally, and culturally.
In our first session, I will gather background info and your reasons for seeking therapy. I would also love to hear how you found me and what you are hoping to get out of our time together.
I most enjoy learning about my clients and getting to hear the positive changes that they are creating in their own life as a result of working together!
My specialty is treating anxiety, depression and relationship issues within gender, sexuality and relationship diverse communities. I take a sex-positive, mind-body and client-centered approach and am LGBTQ+, kink/fetish and consensual non-monogamy friendly.
I believe that we are more than just our minds and cognitive thinking and that the experience of our body sensations affects our current perspective and interactions with others. Through holistic and mindfulness practices, I assist my clients in accessing their inner essence; this could be as simple as using the breath to relax and decrease reactivity by calming the central nervous system.
I come from a background that includes psychiatric hospitals, treatment centers, community mental health and post-acute rehab center for brain injury. Having this experience of multiple settings and wide range of individuals, has helped me become aware of the possibility of re-traumatization when seeking help. I actively work to stay updated through continued education of the best practices for working with humans, because I believe we have all experienced trauma to some degree in our lifetimes. Some of the key components of this approach include safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment.
