Hello and welcome! I'm Kayla, a dedicated therapist with extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My practice is rooted in a deep commitment to helping you navigate and overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relational and familial conflict, and life transitions. I am passionate about supporting clients dealing with various concerns like addiction, eating disorders, and self-harm behaviors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be focused on getting to know you! What do you want from therapy? What brought you here? What kinds of support are you looking for? It's also an opportunity for you to get to know me a bit better and determine whether my style and approach would be a good fit for your recovery journey! Clients can expect our first session to be a bit more "intake-style," where we'll go over your immediate concerns, explore potential goals for therapy, and discuss how I may be able to support you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a wealth of different populations, from young children to older adults, I've grown to learn that feeling safe, comfortable, and connected in therapy is often one of the main things people want and need. In therapy, my first priority is ensuring that you feel supported and safe so that we can move into a productive space for identifying unmet needs and finding ways to meet them.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

With EFT, I like to help clients understand the emotional experiences that often influence actions and behaviors. By learning to acknowledge and validate the emotions behind your experiences, we can work on better meeting our needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've used CBT consistently since beginning my work as a therapist! This modality has supported so many of my clients in recognizing some of the unhelpful beliefs they hold about themselves, the world, and others. My goal is to support clients through the CBT model in learning to replace those beliefs with ones that produce more adaptive, healthy thoughts about themselves and the world around them.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With person-centered therapy, my focus is keeping my clients in the driver's seat. My focus is on supporting you, creating a safe environment, and prioritizing the development of a stable and safe therapeutic alliance.
