Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, utilizing a Christian faith-based approach. I earned my master's degree from Walden University and have been practicing for four years. Additionally, I bring over twenty years of Christian Counseling experience and fifty-eight years of life learning to my practice. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other methods, I assist families, couples, veterans, and individuals of all ages in overcoming cognitive, mental, or relational challenges to achieve clarity, maintain focus, and accomplish their goals.
In our initial session, we'll begin with brief introductions. I'll explain the therapy guidelines and expectations, and then we'll delve into the specific issues you're experiencing. This will enable me to develop a personalized plan for us to address in future sessions.
Building on four years of professional experience with individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds, ethnicities, and educational levels, along with over twenty years of Christian Counseling and fifty-eight years of life learning, I have developed a method for pinpointing the root causes of clients' challenges. This approach allows me to create personalized plans that result in measurable progress.
My experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is that it is a widely used, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, leading to improved mental health and well-being. Its structured and purposeful nature, combined with its emphasis on practical skills and techniques, makes it an effective treatment for a variety of psychological issues. I have used it in my practice as a primary go-to because of its effectiveness, I have had the good pleasure of seeing clients progress from emotional, behavioral, or/and cognitive dysregulation to emotional, behavioral, or/and cognitive regulation.
My experience with Person-Centered Therapy is that it is a compassionate and empowering approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes the client's ability to understand themselves and make positive changes in their lives. In Person-Centered Therapy the client is the expert, hence I provide a non-judgmental, empathetic, and genuine therapeutic relationship. By doing this I create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, which leads to greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth.
