I love partnering with people on their journey to greatness. I use a strengths-based approach to help my clients see the choices that are always at their disposal to unlearn past harmful messaging or combat unrelenting present symptoms. As a Black woman, I always integrate the importance of diversity. Playing small to blend in doesn't serve anyone. Whether we're different based on external or internal attributes, we all need to embrace our beautiful and different qualities so that we can live an authentic life. My work also focuses on boundaries, challenging thoughts, and improving communication skills. I integrate role plays, affirmations, accountability, and direct introspection exercises to aid clients in quieting the noise of societal norms to embrace their true joy. All sessions are client-focused, I don't come with my own agenda. I'm excited to help you live life with confidence on your own terms. I look forward to working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect to deal directly with their emotions each session. We can only connect with others to the extent to which we are connected to ourselves. Sessions involve emotional identification to improve comfort with owning emotions then verbalizing in constructive ways. Sessions also focus on examining relationships (past, present, hopes for the future) and how they are impacting clients. Most of all, sessions involve new tools, perspectives, or activities for clients to integrate into their lives right now. I'll always ask, "What's one thing you can do to make your life a little bit better between now and when I see you again?"

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use various treatment methods because different people call for different care. I use lots of narrative based treatment because your story is a powerful part of your past and your healing. I also have experience in behavioral therapies, somatic therapy, family systems and reality therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are positivity and challenging perspectives. I love to share with clients their amazing qualities that they are minimizing. I enjoy discussions on what is holding someone back from their greatness and who told them they couldn't achieve it. Then we work on moving forward with intentionality to a more truthful and rewarding emotional place.
