Are you feeling stuck in patterns you can't break, overwhelmed by anxiety, or recovering from relationships that left lasting scars? My name is Meghan and I am a licensed professional counselor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and founder of Inner Light Counseling & Wellness. I help adults heal from anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, addiction, and narcissistic abuse. My approach is trauma-informed, warm, and grounded in proven therapies tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll identify areas of focus and set goals that matter to you, such as building self-esteem, healing childhood trauma, improving relationships, and breaking unhealthy habits. My integrative approach weaves together evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and Person-Centered Therapy to address the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My experience includes private practice and working in dual diagnosis treatment for mental health and substance use.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect clear, open communication and a supportive, non-judgmental environment when we’re together. I work with my clients to create an open and safe space where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I believe honesty, authenticity, and a sense of genuine connection can foster a therapeutic relationship where true change can flourish. Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll discuss your background, history, and what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your goals and expectations. I want you to feel comfortable and safe in every session, so you are in control of what you want to share with me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to counseling is tailored to meet individual needs. I have extensive training in trauma-informed care, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, person-centered therapy, and integrative counseling. I believe you are the expert of your story and your potential for change is already inside of you. My goal is to help empower you on your healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My goal is to provide a warm, empathic, and nonjudgmental space to support and empower individuals to overcome life’s challenges. I believe in an integrative approach to counseling to heal the mind, body, and soul. Together, I work with my clients to heal childhood wounds, reduce stress, improve mental health symptoms, find meaning and purpose, and learn to love your most authentic and true self. I view counseling as a deeply personal journey that we will travel together. My goal is to help you find your light. For the mind, we will work on emotional insight, unhealthy thinking patterns, and negative core beliefs. For the body, we will integrate somatic awareness, deep breathing, and nervous system support. For the spirit, we will discuss your overall health and wellness, finding your purpose, and connecting with your true self. Here’s what you can expect from our work together: A warm, honest, and nonjudgmental space where your thoughts and feelings are respected and understood. Collaborative goal-setting and personalized treatment plans that honor your unique strengths and pace. Practical tools to help you build emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and self-compassion. A safe container for exploring and releasing old patterns, so you can reclaim your voice, your worth, and your direction.
