Welcome. If you’re feeling frozen, avoidant, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply unsure of how to move forward, you’re not alone — and therapy can help. Many people seek support when thoughts begin to spiral, when the inner critic grows loud, or when stress leads to worrisome behaviors. I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who helps people break free from the cycles that keep them stuck. My work focuses on resolving long-standing patterns, untangling internal conflicts, and reconnecting you with a sense of clarity, meaning, and vitality.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our work together begins with collaboration. During your first session, we’ll review your intake, talk through your history and symptoms, complete an assessment, and co-create a treatment plan.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I show up authentically — rooted in my middle-class upbringing within a multicultural, blended family that includes generations of Veterans, First Responders, homemakers, and blue-collar workers. Clients often describe me as collaborative, grounded, direct when needed, and deeply empathic. My studies at Antioch University Los Angeles, a social-justice-oriented program, shaped my commitment to inclusivity and my skill set as an ally. I weave an eclectic, trauma-informed framework that includes: • CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS • EMDR, trauma reprocessing, and resourcing • Mindfulness and somatic awareness • Narrative therapy, schema, and identity exploration • Jungian-oriented , Existential, and expressive arts approaches
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with individuals who are ready to explore patterns and create meaningful change. I provide care to a diverse range of clients, including First Responders, and their families; individuals impacted by cancer, as well as caregivers; individuals navigating and exploring identity; individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, self-criticism, identity questions, relationship challenges, or feeling “stuck” or disconnected in life. I do not provide psychological testing or court/custody evaluations. My background includes specialized education and experience in conflict related trauma treatment for civilians, Veterans, & First Responders. My clinical professional experience spans county behavioral health, mobile crisis response, court-based programs, cancer support settings, foster/youth programs, residential and outpatient treatment centers for eating disorders and substance use, and group practice working with teens, transitional-age youth, adults, couples, and families. If you’re ready to begin this work, I look forward to supporting you.
EMDR
I am fully trained in EMDR and use this modality from reprocessing trauma to addressing past adversities and core-belief-shaping experiences to resourcing. My approach prioritizes safety, pacing, and transparency. I inform clients at each step, explaining the “what” and “why” of EMDR. Many clients seek me specifically for EMDR, and upon request (and my review), I may provide EMDR as supplemental therapy for individuals who wish to continue ongoing treatment with another therapist.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
As an evolution of CBT, ACT helps increase psychological flexibility by connecting you with your values, broadening perspective, and accessing internal strengths to get unstuck. I provide psychoeducation and can offer worksheets, guided exercises, and ACT-aligned homework when desired.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness can take many forms. My orientation is gentle, supportive, and experiential — often incorporating grounding, breathwork, visualization, guided meditation, or focused awareness. I may also provide resources for between-session practice (e.g., apps, worksheets, videos, or personalized prompts). Mindfulness builds the internal awareness necessary for change, growth, and healing.
Existential
My BA in Liberal Studies with concentrations in creative writing and psychology cultivated a deep connection to the humanities and a curiosity about meaning, identity, and the human experience. My study of myth, symbolism, life-death-life cycles, patterns, and the cosmos often informs a client-requested existential lens. I draw inspiration from Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, Carl Sagan, Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Viktor Frankl, and others. This approach is used when appropriate and is secondary to primary evidence-based modalities (e.g., EMDR, ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS).
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I am a solution-oriented thinker and support clients who want efficient, focused work to improve well-being. This modality allows us to identify strengths, highlight what’s already working, and move toward concrete, actionable change. My approach is eclectic and always client-centered, tailored to your unique needs and goals.

She was very client centered and helped me think and make connections for myself. As a clinician also, it felt good to be in this seat and feel heard, respected and understood.

Carrie has been life-changing. After years of therapy and hospitalizations, I finally feel heard, safe, and supported. She’s equipped me with tools I use every day, and her steady encouragement has helped me grow in ways I didn’t think were possible. People around me have noticed the change, and more importantly, I feel it. For the first time, I’m truly making progress. I can’t recommend her enough.
