About me

As a therapist, I believe every person is unique, and that their treatment should be tailored to fit their specific needs and circumstances. I am highly passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community, assisting people through transitions (such as college, divorce, grief, or change in careers), helping people understand patterns in their lives and families, and assisting people in gaining more skills to manage their own emotions. My goal as a therapist is to help people to find their strengths, help them grow, and positively change patterns in their daily life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will be asking you background questions to get a better understanding of you and your situation. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and allow you space to answer questions and become comfortable with me.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength is showing up to each session with compassion, empathy and readiness to listen.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with young adults who are navigating life's transitions. I am also passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I am interested in working with people who have experienced a loss (death of a loved one, divorce, or a life change) and would like help navigating this.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained in CBT and do continuing education trainings to keep myself up to date in CBT. I use CBT to help people understand their thought patterns, how they affect their actions and emotions. Together we will learn ways to intervene and gain more control over your thoughts.

Attachment-based

Our attachment style is how we learned to navigate relationships. Together with a client I will help you understand your own attachment style and how it affects your relationships today.

Strength-Based

Throughout my career I have learned that we all have different strengths even when we don't think we do. I work with clients on identifying their strengths and then use them to help through conflicts, anxiety and depression.

Gender-affirming therapy

I work with clients to understand their own gender and what it means for them to have gender- affirming care. I am happy to write a recommendation letter if that will help a client be true to themselves.

Grief Therapy

I am a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS), which means that I have attended over 18 hours of continue education around Grief counseling. Grief is a challenging time that feels like a rollercoaster and as a therapist I will work through that process. My goal is to help clients process their grief in a safe and understanding environment while learning how to reinvest in life after a loss.
