Hi! I'm a licensed MFT based in Pasadena, CA (but practicing via Telehealth.) I received my masters from the University of Southern California in 2014 and cut my teeth working with young people and their families around LA. My education, training and experience have taught me more than just how to treat relationship issues, emotional disorders, and behavioral problems; I'm also acutely aware of the cultural contexts that shape my clients. I practice from a lens that is social justice-oriented, anti-racist, and affirming of all identities, and recognize that systemic issues like discrimination, racism, and oppression significantly impact mental health. I am comfortable treating many issues, but specialize in working with ADHD, "people pleasing," the "inner critic," and parenting.
In our first session, we'll explore in detail what you're struggling with. I'll gather a detailed history. This will help me create an individualized treatment plan just for you. We'll identify your goals for treatment, and once you've met your goals, treatment can end! Or, we can target a new goal and continue our work; it's completely up to you.
I listen really closely and with genuine curiosity. I'll help you find the language to describe your experience and communicate it more effectively to your loved ones, so that they can support you. I'll help you recognize and harness your many strengths. You'll find me to be warm, caring, and humorous. I'll be one of your biggest cheerleaders.
I work with thoughtful, sensitive adults who feel stuck in cycles of ADHD overwhelm, self-criticism, or people-pleasing. Therapy with me is a place to quiet the inner critic, reconnect with your own needs, and develop more self-compassion and confidence. My style is warm, genuine, and deeply attentive—I listen closely and remember the details, so you don’t have to keep explaining yourself.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Together we'll explore how your thoughts are impacting your mood and habits, identify any thought patterns that are unhelpful, and learn ways to restructure your thinking to help you be more resilient in the face of challenges.
Attachment-based
I find it's important to explore your earliest (e.g. infancy/childhood) relationships and how those experiences are impacting your current ones.

Julia is calm, personable, an excellent listener and deeply caring. Her soothing demeanor and warm approach to therapy is an instant balm to an anxious mind. The way she listens, trusts, understands, and asks questions, all while gently challenging me, is proof of the fact that she has the utmost respect for her clients, their situation, their struggles and their point of view. With this approach, she helps me see things differently and inspires me to action. I am very glad she is my therapist!
