LCSW, 35 years of experience
New to Grow
I’m a direct, warm therapist with over 35 years of experience, and I’m highly solution-oriented. I focus on helping people develop the tools they need to solve their own problems, feel empowered, and work toward their goals. I believe strongly in people’s ability to change, and my approach centers on building practical skills that support lasting growth, confidence, and meaningful improvements in daily life.
In our first session, we’ll take time to talk about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to change. I’ll ask about your current concerns as well as your past experiences, since understanding your history helps us make sense of where you are now. You can expect a warm, straightforward conversation where you set the pace. By the end of the session, we’ll identify your goals and some initial steps so you leave with clarity and a sense of direction.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are being nonjudgmental, easy to talk to, and genuinely approachable. I use a sense of humor when it’s helpful, and I stay optimistic even when clients are struggling. I deeply believe that people can change, and I bring that belief into every session. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up with me and appreciate that I can be both direct and encouraging while helping them move toward real growth.
My ideal clients are people who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives and want practical tools to help them get there. They’re open to honest conversations, willing to try new strategies, and motivated to build the skills that support their goals. They want a therapist who is straightforward, supportive, and focused on solutions.
In my work, I use Solution Focused Brief Treatment to help clients identify their strengths and the practical steps that move them toward their goals. Rather than focusing heavily on problems, I guide clients to notice what’s already working and to build on those successes. This approach is collaborative, empowering, and often helps clients experience meaningful change in a shorter period of time.
In my practice, I use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts, beliefs, and interpretations influence their emotions and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic beliefs. This approach gives clients practical tools they can use in daily life to reduce distress, improve decision-making, and build healthier coping strategies.
