Therapy helped change my life. Now, it's my honor as a therapist to help you change yours. I work with my clients by helping them speak more compassionately to themselves, make changes they've been struggling to address on their own, process difficult thoughts and feelings, and live their life aligned to their truest values. I want therapy to be a space for you to unapologetically exist as yourself without judgement.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will look different than a typical session. I want to learn about you! You may have questions for me! The first session involves me asking you a lot of questions; I want to get a sense of who you are, what you are looking to get out of therapy, and what goals you may have. It's important to me that our therapeutic relationship has mutual respect.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I deeply value the practice of therapy. Meeting with clients in such a vulnerable space is truly my honor. I don't take my responsibility as a therapist lightly. I want to help you see new perspectives, gain confidence in handling life's problems, and I always want my clients to feel my compassion, support, and care for them.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with women who want to improve their quality of life, gain self confidence, and process challenging thoughts/feelings/experiences in a safe, cozy, judgement free space.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Using ACT techniques we will work on accepting your emotions and thoughts (even the uncertain, challenging ones) rather than avoiding, dissociating, and pushing them down. We will explore your personal values to help shape your life to be meaningful to you.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
There's a lot of different parts to us (think parts of your identity). By developing an understanding of how your own parts interact with each other and which parts may no longer serve you, we can work to release or unburden those roles leading to a more compassionate self and greater resiliency.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Find yourself replaying memories from the past? Worrying about the future? I use mindfulness techniques to guide you to stay in the present moment and observe your own thoughts less judgmentally.
Motivational Interviewing
Making change is hard. Motivational interviewing is a tool I use with clients to help them address barriers to change, explore their motivations to change, and collaboratively make a plan for how to go about this change so it's achievable for you.
Trauma Informed Care
Practicing as a trauma-informed therapist is very important to me. I use this method to promote safety, trust, and deep healing. Healing should be empowering.
