As a therapist, my approach is open, non-judgmental, and collaborative. My goal is to create an empowering environment because ultimately, you are the expert in your own life. I specialize in trauma, mood disorders (depression and anxiety), and perinatal mental health. I am trained in EMDR (eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This form of therapy has been shown to be effective for individuals who have survived traumatic experiences and/or who have experienced complex developmental trauma throughout their lives. With experience working with diverse diagnoses and populations, I visualize therapy as a journey where I walk alongside to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is like a "getting to know you first date" where you and I can decide if this is a good fit for you. We'll explore your needs, define your expectations, and pinpoint a few areas where you'd like to see some growth. I'll offer some ideas for navigating towards your goals, and you will see if that resonates with you. There is absolutely no pressure, the goal of the first session is simply to see if I can be the best resource for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with diverse populations for the past five years, I have walked with clients through everyday stressors to life changing events. I will meet you where you are at while also keeping you accountable for your goals. I am know for my empathetic and honest approach. I will always give you a choice, and create a safe space for your empowerment.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with clients who may be a little lost but also ready for change. I am ready to walk alongside you on this journey to find a bit more clarity, skills, and personal growth along the way. I specialize working with perinatal women, domestic violence, any trauma (be it childhood or adult), and young professionals who are finding their footing through life transitions.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

Rooted in the lens of humanistic principles, I strongly believe the client holds the full potential of self growth and change. Together, we will partner to develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses your specific needs. I utilize a range of interventions to effectively support your journey.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a trauma-informed therapist, my practice reflects the use of trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based CBT. I will weave CBT in a comprehensive personalized treatment plan. This may look like using CBT in a structure format from skill building to in-session practicing and homework to being able to incorporate CBT skills as different coping mechanisms.

EMDR

I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process and resolve traumatic memories, effectively removing distress. I offer the ability to do virtual EMDR.

Relational

Drawing on Relational Cultural Theory, I have a deep appreciation of recognizing that we exist in the context of relationships with each other. I empower my clients to examine the influences in their lives and develop healthy awareness of how they view relationships.
