About me

Starting therapy is a powerful and courageous step toward change, and I’m honored to walk alongside you on this journey. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that every person holds the capacity for deep transformation. Whether you’re facing specific challenges or navigating the complexities of your identity, relationships, or past experiences, therapy can be a space of discovery, healing, and growth. I offer an empowering and collaborative therapeutic relationship where your voice, values, and lived experiences are honored. In our work together, you are not seen as a problem to be fixed, but as a whole and capable person—deserving of care, clarity, and connection. My practice is affirming of all identities, and I am committed to providing a liberating space where you can explore who you are without judgment. I have over 20 years of clinical experience and training working with individuals from diverse backgrounds struggling with identity development, relational problems, trauma, family of origin issues, racial trauma, bereavement issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety and stress management.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Beginning therapy is a meaningful step, and I honor the courage it takes to show up—especially when you’ve had to navigate the world in ways that may not have always felt safe, seen, or supported. In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you—not just your struggles, but your strengths, your story, and what matters most to you. This is a space where all parts of your identity are welcome, including your cultural background, gender, sexuality, race, class, ability, faith, and life experiences. You don’t need to explain or justify who you are here. We’ll explore what brought you in, talk about your hopes for therapy, and begin to build a connection at a pace that feels right for you. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—this is your space, and you set the tone. You’re also welcome to ask any questions you have about the process, and together, we’ll discuss what ongoing support can look like. My primary goal is to create a space that is respectful, empowering, and healing, where you feel genuinely heard, affirmed, and supported in your growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational-cultural perspectives, which means I honor how your early experiences, relationships, and cultural contexts have shaped who you are—and how you move through the world. Together, we will explore not only your inner life, but the outer forces that have impacted your self-understanding and relationships. This is a space for liberation. A space to untangle internalized messages, to grieve, to rage, to reflect, and ultimately, to reclaim your truth. Healing is not about becoming someone else—it’s about returning to yourself with more compassion, clarity, and power. I view therapy as a collaborative, affirming, and empowering relationship. In our work, we will build connection and trust, because I believe growth happens in relationship—not in isolation. You don’t need to “have it all together” to begin. You just need a space where you can be real, be seen, and begin to feel safe enough to uncover what’s been buried. Your voice matters here. Your complexity is welcome. Your healing is possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are seeking a therapeutic space that is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in depth, connection, and liberation. My work centers people who are navigating the complexities of identity, emotional wellbeing, and relationships—especially those whose experiences may not have been fully acknowledged or supported in other spaces. I work especially well with: • Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) exploring racial identity, intergenerational trauma, cultural disconnection, and the impact of systemic oppression. • LGBTQIA+ clients seeking an affirming space to explore gender, sexuality, family dynamics, or the experience of living authentically in the face of marginalization. • Adult children of immigrants or first-generation individuals navigating bicultural stress, family expectations, and identity integration. • Men who are ready to engage more deeply with their emotional lives, explore vulnerability, or redefine masculinity on their own terms—especially in contexts where emotional openness hasn’t felt safe or encouraged. • Helping professionals—therapists, educators, healthcare workers, and activists—who are experiencing burnout, vicarious trauma, or who need space to tend to their own healing while continuing to hold space for others. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, I offer a space to slow down, reflect, and heal with care and intention.
