New to Grow
Halie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals navigating complex trauma, PTSD, OCD-related symptoms, and relationship challenges. She takes a trauma-informed, collaborative approach, integrating EMDR, CBT, and relational work to help clients build safety, insight, and effective coping skills. Halie is especially intentional about creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to move at their own pace. Through therapy, she helps clients reduce distress, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with a sense of control and meaning in their lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and low-pressure space focused on building rapport and safety. We’ll spend time getting to know what brings you to therapy, discussing your goals, and understanding what has and hasn’t been helpful in the past. I’ll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process and collaborate with you on next steps, ensuring you leave the session feeling heard, supported, and grounded in what to expect moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a strong sense of safety and trust early in the therapeutic process, especially for clients with complex trauma or anxiety-related concerns. I help clients make sense of their experiences without judgment, reducing shame while building effective coping skills. Above all, I empower clients to move at their own pace, fostering insight, resilience, and lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are individuals who feel stuck in patterns shaped by trauma, anxiety, or OCD-like symptoms and are seeking meaningful, lasting change. Many have experienced complex or relational trauma and may feel overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or unsure why certain triggers or behaviors persist. They are motivated to better understand themselves, build healthier coping strategies, and heal at a pace that feels safe and collaborative.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT by helping clients identify unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behavior patterns that contribute to distress. Together, we examine how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected and practice replacing unhelpful patterns with more balanced, effective ones. Sessions often include skill-building, structured exercises, and between-session practice to support real-world change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT by helping clients build practical skills in four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. In practice, this means teaching concrete tools to manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and navigate relationships more effectively.
EMDR
EMDR is used by helping clients briefly focus on distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or tones). This process supports the brain in reprocessing the memory so it becomes less emotionally intense and more adaptive. I pace the work carefully, prioritizing safety, stabilization, and the client’s readiness throughout treatment.
