I currently work as a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Minnesota. I have experience working with individuals who have struggled with substance use, severe mental illness, suicidal thoughts, homelessness, grief/loss. In addition, I have worked with LGBT+, Spanish speaking populations, older adults, and those involved in the legal system. I began my career working with children and adolescents at an outpatient clinic where I provided individual and family therapy in Spanish and English. I continued my career as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at a county jail where I worked with individuals involved in gangs, substance use, and suffering from long-term medical and severe mental illness. Later, while completing my doctorate, I trained at various state psychiatric facilities providing individual and group therapy to those involved in the legal system; and also worked at VA hospitals focusing on suicide prevention and older adult support. I enjoy providing services to those from underserved communities.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, I focus on gathering information related to the reason for you seeking support. I ask questions to best understand what you hope to focus on now and what you hope to achieve in the long run.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I make an effort to listen to each individual and help support them so that they achieve their personal goals while working together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Regardless of one's previous history, I believe every person deserves to be heard, supported, and understood. I have worked with individuals from varying backgrounds and have learned that despite our different cultural, economic, educational, and social background, we can all experience loss, pain, and difficulty at some point in life.
