In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a calm, supportive space where you set the pace and tell your story. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, identify your goals, and begin understanding what obstacles, such as grief, anxiety, trauma responses, or life stress, are affecting your well-being. I use a transparent, collaborative style so you know exactly how methods such as CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Narrative, and Solution-Focused strategies will support your therapeutic process. By the end of our session, you can expect a greater sense of emotional grounding, clarity about the issues and goals you want to attain, and an initial plan tailored to meet your needs. My intention is for you to feel safe, seen, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include a compassionate presence, advanced clinical training, and years of experience in grief therapy, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, emotional wellness, and life coaching. I aim to create a safe space that fosters trust and feelings of being understood. I integrate solution-focused, evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness strategies, narrative therapy, and structured grief recovery to help clients achieve meaningful, sustainable change. I excel at helping clients: calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety; navigate grief and loss with structure and compassion; rebuild confidence after trauma or life transitions; strengthen coping skills and emotional resilience; and identify practical next steps when life feels overwhelming. The emotional pain of loss isn't only about death or separation; it includes over 40 reasons like loss of identity, faith, safety, trust, moving, job loss, financial changes, and more. Healing any loss can open new perspectives on the future. Clients often describe my approach as grounding, hopeful, and deeply connecting—combining emotional support with practical tools that make everyday life more manageable. I frequently hear clients say, " I feel we have a real connection," which reflects the supportive and relatable nature of my work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults across the lifespan who are seeking relief from anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. Many of my clients describe themselves as strong and capable—but privately overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure how to move forward. I specialize in supporting individuals experiencing complicated emotional pain of loss (grief), caregiver burnout, chronic health conditions, emotional overwhelm, any significant life transition, and habits of behavior or thoughts that keep them feeling “stuck.” My ideal clients want an experienced therapist who is compassionate, grounded, and transparent—someone who blends solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices like CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based therapy, and grief work. Clients who work with me tend to value emotional insight paired with practical tools they can use daily. Remember, action reduces stress, anxiety, and fear. If you’re longing for clarity, emotional healing, healthier coping strategies, or a renewed sense of direction, I am here to walk beside you with steadiness, hope, and clinical skills.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In our work together, ACT helps you gently shift from struggling with painful thoughts and emotions to relating to them with compassion. I help you clarify what truly matters to you and build the confidence to move toward those values—step by step, at your own pace. ACT supports clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their purpose, and it aligns with my belief in hope, healing, and honoring your inner strengths.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT allows us to look closely at the thoughts and beliefs shaping your emotional world. Together, we uncover patterns that may be increasing stress or self-doubt and replace them with healthier, more empowering ways of thinking. I use CBT in a collaborative, transparent way—you’ll always know why we’re doing something and how it supports the life you want to build.

Trauma Informed Care

As a therapist with decades of experience walking beside individuals and families in crisis, I hold your story with deep respect. Trauma-informed care means we create a space where safety, autonomy, cultural sensitivity, and emotional pacing guide every step. I help you understand the impact of trauma on the mind and body, offering grounding tools and gentle approaches that rebuild resilience, stability, and self-trust. Healing is never rushed—it unfolds with compassion.

Grief Therapy

As a Certified Advanced Grief Recovery Specialist, grief work is at the heart of my practice. Grief is not only about death—it includes any significant loss, transition, or unmet expectation that has left your heart hurting. I offer a compassionate, structured, step-by-step process to help you move from emotional pain toward relief, clarity, and healing. You will never be rushed or judged. Together, we honor your loss while gently guiding you toward the emotional freedom you deserve.

Narrative

Narrative therapy helps gently separate your identity from the challenges you’ve faced. Many clients come to me feeling defined by grief, trauma, or life transitions. Together, we explore the stories you’ve carried and uncover the resilience, courage, and hope woven within them. This approach allows us to lift shame and self-blame and create a new narrative—one grounded in empowerment and possibility.
