Hi! My name is Alex and I'm excited about the potential of working with you in developing a sense of integration and resilience in your life. Are you feeling stuck? Dissatisfied in your relationships and/or work? Disconnected from a sense of deeper purpose? Feel that there is the potential for greater richness and joy in life, but it is just out of reach? Rooted in a compassionate curiosity, our work would explore these themes through inquiry into the dynamic between your conscious, unconscious, somatic, and relational self. Using a holistic lens we can unpack the how's and why's of your patterns; gaining insight into your emotions and experiences, and work towards greater self-awareness and well-being. From a somatic, psychodynamic approach we will focus on the connection between the body and the mind, and how emotions and past experiences can be stored in the body and affect an your mental and physical well-being. Through the use of techniques such as mindfulness, breathwork, and body-based exercises, you will become more aware of your physical sensations and how they are connected to your thoughts and emotions. This may also include exploring early childhood experiences, family dynamics, and past traumas, as well as working through issues related to relationships, self-esteem, and personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Coming from session, you may gain insight into your unconscious thoughts, feelings, and conflicts, and how these may be impacting your current experiences and how that resonates out into your body. By exploring early childhood experiences, family/social dynamics, embodied experience, and past traumas, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, and work towards resolving lingering emotional struggles. Overall, clients can expect to gain greater self-awareness and insight, and to develop tools and strategies for coping with difficult emotions and making positive changes in their lives.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In addition to being a therapist, I am a somatic movement and mindfulness teacher. I am also deeply interested in and influenced by my personal investigations into philosophy and spirituality, and love incorporating these questions of meaning and purpose into our inquiry of who you are and who you want to be.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Using psychodynamic therapy, we seek to generate insight into the dynamic between our conscious, unconscious, and relationships co-create our sense of self. A big piece is looking at how these dynamic patterns came to be from experiences in our past.

Somatic

Somatic psychotherapy looks at how our emotions are felt as embodied experiences. This is done the through developing mindful awareness and self compassion.

Humanistic

The Humanistic framework lends to the idea that every person is unique and is ultimately the expert of their own experience.
