I am a bilingual-Spanish-speaking, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years experience in the mental health field. My specialty is focused on individuals over the age of 21 dealing with anxiety, depression, postpartum, grief and loss, life transitions, and women's issues. My training consists of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Interpersonal Therapy, Crisis Therapy, Motivational Therapy, etc.; however, when providing services to clients, I prefer to utilize a Solution-Focused approach to help clients achieve their mental health goals. I believe that there is not a “one size fits all” approach to therapy and that collaboration and trust with my clients is key to success in therapy. My goal is to help and empower others who are struggling to heal so that they can have a better future and not continue to live in the pain of the past. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching a movie/show, or reading a book.
My goal is to provide all clients with a welcoming environment from the first session. During the first session, I will introduce myself and provide clients with information regarding HIPPAA, limits of confidentiality, review their information on file, initiate the intake process, answer questions, and discuss the client’s goals for therapy. During this time, I also try to build rapport with my client and explore if the client and myself are a good fit and can work together during this journey.
It is my personal belief that all therapists have a story that leads them towards this career path, along with the desire to help others heal. That is part of my story. Like many, I, too, had past struggles that impacted my life and affected my mental health. Through my personal experience and professional expertise, I am equipped to help those that are ready to start their healing journey. I will listen along the way, but also challenge you to grow into the person that you envision for yourself. My goal is to help and empower others who are struggling to heal so that they can have a better future and not continue to live in the pain of the past.
I work with adults (21+ years) struggling with anxiety and/or depression, postpartum, grief and loss, life transitions, and women's issues.
CBT is a very effective method to treat depression. Using psychoeducation, understanding the connection of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and challenging your thoughts, can help improve your symptoms of depression.
I always tell my clients that there is no "right" way to grieve, but we can learn to understand the process and identify our feelings. By understanding the different stages of grief and loss, processing our emotions, and learning how to honor who or what we lost, we can learn to live a life after grief.
Knowledge is power. Sometimes, the first step of learning and understanding can start to help the healing process. Through psychoeducation, you will learn about your diagnosis and how you can help yourself heal.
I utilize a problem-solving approach to help clients achieve their goals and start their healing journey. I believe that solution does not just occur by sharing but also by setting action and measurable goals. Through solution-focused brief therapy, we address the issue causing distress in your life and set goals to help alleviate the symptoms and achieve your goals.
