Hi! I'm Susanna Franchi. I have been working in the mental health field over twenty years. I earned my Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am very dedicated in doing my best work in sessions with clients to help them improve and lead satisfied lives. It has been rewarding seeing my clients improve and grow which has given me continued motivation to continue my work as a therapist.
In our first session, we will provide brief introductions. I will ask questions to obtain your personal history. Collaboratively, I will work with you to identify a list of problems you wish to work through in sessions and identify your personal goals you wish to work towards in therapy sessions with me. I will actively listen to you without judgement, accept your unique thoughts and feelings you share with me.
I am dedicated to doing my best work in helping my clients improve. I take the needed time to establish therapeutic rapport with my clients. Clients feel comfortable in working with me. I guide my clients in gaining insight into the root cause of their problems. Most clients have been able to learn in sessions with me to effectively regulate their emotions, to communicate more accurately, effectively, improve their ability to effectively problem-solve, experience a sustainable positive mood, improve their level of functioning, improve their level of satisfaction in their lives and in turn improve their overall relationships with others.
I work collaboratively to help individuals who struggle with managing feelings of depression and anxiety effectively, to regulate their emotions, communicate accurately, effectively problem-solve, improve their level of functioning and in turn their relationships with others.
In order for my clients to have the most positive experience and outcome, it is important for me as your therapist to build a therapeutic relationship with you that is built upon openness, understanding, acceptance, caring, and trust so you can move forward and grow. In each session, I will provide a safe, warm environment. You can expect in every session, I will actively listen to you without judgement, accept your unique thoughts and feelings you share with me.
I help clients to recognize the relationship between their thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and help them to identify and change their maladaptive thinking patterns, which cause clients to feel depressed, anxious which negatively impact their day to day lives. I work with my clients to help them establish sustainable, positive change.
I utilize this therapy to help my clients learn and utilize strategies to manage overwhelming emotions when they occur.
