Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia since 2018. I have worked in the fields of Corrections, Intensive Residential Substance Treatment, School-based Mental Health, and faith-based outpatient centers. I work with middle and high school students, adults, couples, and probationers. I enjoy hearing each individual's story and experiences to help them move towards their personal goals and find joy in living!
First time meetings can be wrought with fear or anxiety. Just about every client I have met with has acknowledged, "It wasn't that bad!" After brief introductions and learning some basic information, we will discuss your presenting concerns and what you hope to gain out of therapy. We will work on an individualized plan where you can see your own progress as we move through our sessions.
I have worked with a great variety of individuals, and something they have in common is that they feel heard. I am a good listener who genuinely cares about each of my clients. You are trusting me with your "stuff", and I don't take that lightly. It is a privilege to get to share in a part of your journey.
I will incorporate biblical principles to assist you in finding healing, peace, improved relationships, and mood management. If you do not prefer this style of intervention, please just let me know!
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help you to understand the connections in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This method is very effective at helping people understand "why" they do what they do and feel what they feel.
You will receive a safe and collaborative space to process through trauma you have experienced, learn ways it has impacted you, and realize your strengths that have brought you through.
I have worked with many couples (married, dating, divorcing) to help them identify barriers to trust, commitment, and unity within their relationship, collaboratively working together towards desired goals.
Loss is a personal journey. You will find a caring, safe, and compassionate space to process your emotions, learn the grief cycle, ask the hard questions, and begin to cope.
