Luz Dellmisel Vicenty is a licensed bilingual Connecticut therapist who is fluent in English and Spanish. I am honored to be part of your journey to healing and rediscovering your strength, identity, and self-confidence. I strive to help my clients see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that past trauma doesn’t have to dictate their future or self-view. I have experience with diverse cultures facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and self-confidence issues.
I begin the first session with an introductory session, during which you can share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I then work with you to figure things out. I strive to create an inviting, judgment-free, and warm environment where you feel comfortable sharing, vulnerable, and secure. Then, we will work together throughout the sessions to conquer your goals
I believe everyone experiences their own story and journey in life. If we decide to work together, we will be partners in your journey. I offer understanding, honesty, respect, compassion, and no judgment. I am here to listen and support you every step of the way!
As a therapist my desire would be to work with individuals who are ready to learn different modalities and skills to assist them in managing their current challenges in their life. A client who is ready to work on themselves and their goals in order to move forward in their life and reach their true potential.
I have utilized CBT for the last 3 years with the clients I serve in order to help them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how this impacts their perspective of the world and themselves. I use CBT to help the client reframe the way they view themselves and their life from a negative aspect to a positive one.
I have being implementing Mindfulness therapy into the sessions I have with clients for the past 3 years. This form of therapy focuses on the here and now and staying present. It gives the client the opportunity to be present in the moments of their lives as it is happening. It is a great tool to use when one is feeling stressed or overwhelmed with the responsibilities of today and family.
