Welcome! My name is Carla Barnes, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have eight years of experience working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, those coping with grief/loss. I utilize a holistic and trauma-informed approach. My practice approach is focused on providing an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment. I am committed to each individual and focus on their core strength. I recognize and appreciate your willingness to start this therapeutic journey in the beginning stage of the therapeutic process.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I am dedicated to helping clients process, build insight and resilience, and find hope for their future.
I enjoy helping many diverse clients including adults, teens, children, and seniors who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and transitional stages.
I've been using CBT in my practice for the past eight years. CBT focuses on developing healthier ways of managing your thoughts, emotions, and behavior. The main principle of this treatment method is to increase awareness of your negative thinking and unhelpful behaviors so you can respond to challenges in a more productive way. CBT is useful for treating many different issues, including depression, anxiety, emotional trauma, and grief and loss.
