LPC, 3 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia with a Master’s degree from Liberty University and three years of clinical experience. I specialize in supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults as they navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, helping clients build resilience, gain clarity, and move toward becoming the healthiest, most authentic versions of themselves.
In our first session, we’ll begin with introductions so I can get to know you and your unique story. Then, we’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re facing, whether it’s anxiety, trauma, or life transitions. This will allow me to understand your needs more deeply and develop a personalized treatment plan that we can work through together in our follow-up sessions, ensuring that each step is meaningful and effective.
With three years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults, my approach is to help you uncover the root causes of your challenges. Together, we’ll work to identify key issues and create a customized plan that is tailored to your needs. My goal is to guide you toward measurable progress, empowering you to achieve lasting growth and meaningful change.
I’m passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are motivated to grow but struggle to find the right tools to make lasting change. Many of my clients feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious. I specialize in EMDR therapy and integrate therapeutic art interventions when appropriate to help clients process trauma, build resilience, and achieve personal growth in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Positive psychology is a field that focuses on understanding and promoting human flourishing and well-being, shifting the focus from solely addressing negative aspects of mental health to cultivating positive qualities and experiences. It explores how to improve quality of life through factors like optimism, resilience, and meaningful experiences.
EMDR therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a mental health therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic memories. It involves recalling a stressful past event and "reprogramming" the memory, often using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, to reduce distress and develop more adaptive beliefs.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that helps individuals develop skills to manage intense emotions, cope with difficult situations, and improve relationships. It was originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD), but it's now used for a broader range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. In addition to talk therapy, somatic therapy practitioners use mind-body exercises and other physical techniques to help release the pent-up tension that negatively affects a patient’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talking therapy that helps individuals manage mental health conditions by changing their thought patterns and behaviors. It's a structured, goal-oriented therapy that can address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, and stress.
