New to Grow
I am licensed in Michigan with 20+ years of counseling experience. I have helped people cope with stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma and abuse as well as attachment and intimacy related issues. I enjoy working with those of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community. I have a holistic approach which incorporates a strength and resilience-informed focus with somatic and mindfulness practices.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Before our first session I will give you some basic information forms to complete. Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes and the frequency is decided on a case-by-case basis.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have experience working in a variety of environments and utilizing different therapeutic approaches.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with adults via telehealth or in my office. The therapy focus is patient centered and so decided and adjusted individually.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
A more accurate term may be Eclectic CBT, as I often incorporate different therapy modalities. I can say that they are all trauma informed and person centered.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I find that the skills taught in DBT can be useful in many situations. I often incorporate them into my practice.
Trauma-Focused CBT
If desired and appropriate, my therapeutic approach easily lends itself to trauma focus.
Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal Therapy incorporates a somatic awareness of the body as well as emotions and thoughts. It is often helpful when working to reduce anxiety or other symptoms related to truma.
